When I was newly married, my grandmother gave me an old platter that had been hers. I t may have been her mother's before her, I don't know. That Blue Willow platter sparked my love for the crisp colorway of just "blue and white".Later, on the TV show "Reading Rainbow" I heard Lavar Burton read the story behind the images on the platter: "When the peach tree blooms, the willow will cry, and Lee Ho and Wang will take to the sky." This story made me love the design all the more.This pattern comes from the motifs found on my grandmother's Blue Willow platter.
