Maine Pine Cone

Inspiration
Maine is home. Though my husband and I contentedly raised our family in New York and Pennsylvania, my heart always kept a special fondness for Maine.Now we have retired back to Maine - the Pine Tree State - and I couldn't be happier! This pine cone hat is designed in appreciation for my home state and this new chapter in our lives. It reminds me of the many happy childhood jaunts climbing pine trees and listening to their tassels whisper in the breeze.Maine's Eastern White Pine cone and tassel (the cluster of needles) is the only state floral emblem that is actually not a flower. It was chosen to be the state flower by public vote in 1895.
